7th Annual Father’s Day Bash

Yes, it really is time to start planning for the 7th Annual Father’s Day Pickleball Tournament. This is a very popular event and is often described as one of the friendliest tournaments around. Funds raised from this event support pickleball in the Magic Valley, our court facilities and community projects.

This year we are using the SWISH App to run the event. It is quickly becoming the program of choice for tournament management and has integrated the DUPR ratings, so player points will automatically be credited. Tennille has also tested it with the A.C.E. fundraiser and for several round robin play days and found it to be quick, easy, and effective. We think you will too.

Partners should register and pay together. If you need a partner, however, you can put your information in on the event you plan to play to be found by other players also looking for a partner.

Registration

You can register for the tournament on the Swish Tournament Page or through the Swish logo.

After registering for this Tournament, immediately download the SWISHApp on your smartphone. If either partner does not have one, that is okay, there is help to ensure final scores are verified on the day of the tournament.

Swish Logo

At registration you will use the QR code, where you will see your match-ups, rounds, be able to input and verify scores, and watch the stats in real-time. In addition, your fans will have a QR code to watch on their Smartphones if they choose to. This is all in one place.

Score-keeping: Have your phones charged the day of the event. The winning team will input each match scores, and both teams will verify on the SWIShApp. Please step outside the court to put in your match scores so another match up can begin in that court.

If your team prefers to use the score-keeping table volunteers to input scores for you, you can either provide an oral score or you can request a clipboard prior to the match and write in your scores and return to the score-keeping table. Please let us know ahead of time.

Rules

  • Games are played to 11, win by 1 (this helps us stay on time)
  • After six points, change court sides.
  • Please keep GAME ball in the Court after each match. If it becomes too warm (weather impacted) please exchange for a fresh ball.
  • You must use tournament provided balls.
  • SLAP bracelets are provided as a courtesy for first servers for each team. Please keep them during match play and return them to the desk after the tournament event
  • Prior to each Match, the STARTING SERVER bracelet for each team must be visible to others.
  • No attire can be the same color as the bright yellow Franklin X40 balls. You will be asked to change if anyone complains.
  • NUMBER 1 or 2: One player will hold a number behind their paddle while being seen by one opponent. The individuals who can’t see the numbers, choose a number of either 1 or 2. The winners choose to either to START the SERVE or choose the SIDE.
  • The winning teams are based on Total Wins of the nine games in each bracket. If there is a tie, then it is a Head-to-Head and the winner of that Match is decided.

Please review the 2025 USA Pickleball Official Rulebook prior to your first tournament and watch for ongoing rule changes. This makes it more competitive and fun. Although this is not an Officiated tournament, the basic rules apply.
